“In the past days, the author was in his office when heavy rains came as you can see in the image above (credit image; Qatar Living) where the Corniche turns to flood and around Doha in an instance a massive surge has happened everywhere. The unusual phenomenon came in the city and was a bit surprised where the beautiful road infrastructure underpass became a pool. Because of the incident, the cars on the way home were trapped and sailed to junk when the water subsides.”

Introduction

The author didn’t imagine that even anyone who is trying to change the world, their lifestyle or improving the environment as it was before or let us say that the government is working hard for the infrastructure development and beautification are nothing. And at all, it will be useless when heaven comes down and destroys the land. We have nothing to do but to watch the situation happening in front of you. The author knows that everybody loves the environment and that can’t be denied their willingness for the changes to their country’s environment. This was an example when the author came in 2004; Qatar is nothing but a desert land and was not developed as compared to the picture above (Figure 01).

The author aware that they are one of the most significant contributors to CO₂ because of their oil and gas exploration as a means of a country’s wealth whereas they all are depending on it, but how much more if they don’t have such gifts from the almighty God then when the rain comes, are they still experiencing the same as what happens today? The author doesn’t know exactly, and have no idea at all, but do you have an opinion? And if so, then let us pray for the good thing of the sovereign land.

Raising Awareness about Environment

Climate change is always a burning issue in today’s generation where the world was alarmed on how to mitigate this kind of phenomenon. But according to the given studies from most of the scientists around the world, there are only two levels that need to address the issue, and that is at the government level where they can do something through policymaking and subsidy. The second key is belonging to an individual who is the concerned citizens through awareness and the genuine information that they can prepare and share. We all know that every people from around the world are keeping their eye on raising awareness of the global issue that has been affected. However, some organizations are organizing and motivated on how they can help in reducing the impact of climate change on various environmental matters between all living things and nature — a challenge to individuals that need to understand how the global and the local ecosystem works through either adaptation or mitigation in the phenomenon that every country’s facing. And interact as well as the participation in how a human intervention is altering the balance of the local-global ecosystem. Advocacy is one of the perceptions in raising awareness on how to care for individuals in the ecological aspect, but to live in a sustainable environment for the next generation.

Moreover, water scarcity and polluted water often threaten the local population that always gives them an impression of a conflict. Climate change is due to the people's activities according to the scientists, and that’s the reason why calamities are happening like for example in Qatar for the past days where heavy rains were held and flooding from every corner of the streets. Whatever happening now is not a joke but threatening everyone that affects the growth and development for the communities, and obviously, Qatar is in the progression, however, damaging the ecosystem in the modern world is because of environmental possibilism. The fact is, the environment seems different from what the author has already in and if they don’t even take an action on the climate change phenomenon that might impact people's livelihoods, affecting lifestyle and the community itself.

Raising awareness becomes a big question in the author’s mind because everything upheld and no one knows but mitigating them is one of the principles being developed by the known scientists and practitioners, which has been applied not only in the Philippines but the whole world. The questions remain the same, are these possible where they are working hard to reduce into SR15 will satisfy and heal the environment for the next generation? I hope it will give a positive result, not now, but will experience in the coming generations. The only thing they did is the preservation and mitigating of how to control climate change which always been on the process whereas all environmental activists and advocates are keeping an eye on it.

Raining all over the country doesn’t make sense and has nothing to do with the climate change happening around the globe. It is human activities where the planning and vision had made has something wrong within, and this is the reason where the flood all around the corners of the city matters. Qatar is not like our country, Philippines, where have been experiencing this kind of phenomenon every day. Have you noticed the difference?

In the previous article that had been published, the author had a pronouncement that engineering remains a part of the situation whereas it can be noticed of the exciting development from around the world for a new phase of life in the modern world. An exciting development, which is aiming for a sustainable environment in securing people’s lives towards a better country as their always the priority, and hence, still the government advocacy has the following mandate to give a valuable policy in mitigating climate change for a better result. While an ordinary expatriate working in Qatar has nothing to do but raising awareness as always the common concept concerning the impact of the environment. However, sustainable principles are being applied in the entire projects following the government initiative in reducing the implication of CO₂ but to save mother Earth.

An Argument and Conclusion

Awareness is an awareness that can’t be denied amongst us. It is reasonable to every citizen of the state or even from around the globe in raising their concerns about unstable weather conditions that were happening in the past weeks where severe rain, thunder, and strong winds brought in the country. However, that was ridiculous, right? But that’s true!

As a matter of fact, the author has missed the rain, and it is normal as you can see in the image below (Figure 02) of unusual happening in Qatar. But of course, for them is a big question why?

Nevertheless, in today’s generation, when we say about the environment will always come to our mind about sustainability. Hence, a sustainable environment is everybody’s perception, and the government is working hard on it to be able to bring a new concept in accomplishing such ideas into reality.
