In the past generations and up to the modern
world, Construction and Consulting Engineering is the heart of economic
development and well being of every state and country whereas they can provide
creative thinking and creation that evolves continuously in meeting the needs
of human civilization. However, Engineering Consultancy for Nation Building has
come up with the agile engineering software using BIM (Building
Information Management) pervades commonly tools in the
construction technology to simplify the design and installation within the
client timeframe. The practice of Engineering is permeated in modern society
where enabled every concerned sector from information technology and
entertainment to seed and healthcare, which can even notice the application in
construction, manufacturing, and transport. Furtherance has driven as it
always happens, moreover, human curiosity and gathered experimentation as it
ever been. But in most cases in nation-building, the resources are finite that
comes from around the world with their innovative thinking and creation as well
as the art of engineering that has been formulated with an inexpensive solution
of every difficulty we are facing in the aspect of design, construction,
manufacturing, and technology.
Throwback: Author’s Admiration
In one of the most, the author admired and has
looked at in practice is the work of our beloved Dr.
Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya (1861-1962) with his engineering
heroism contributions to the nation-building and greatest scholars in his time.
He is one of India’s pioneering engineers and administrators who is the man of
action and focused on the nation’s progress in the environmental movement that
can’t be denied from the nation’s environmental
determinism into environmental
possibilism. And from then, Visvesvaraya stands out as the
pioneering Indian engineer; however, their contribution towards nation-building
was ignored but perceived only as a professional class working for a salary.
Nevertheless, the development he contributed to where works consisted of road
building, dams, bridge construction, canal excavation, irrigation work,
drinking water connection, sewerage work, and environmental engineering. As an
example with his most prominent actions in nation-building is the Krishna Raja
Sagara Dam (Figure 01) in Karnataka’s Mandya district, and the flood protection
system for Hyderabad.
Engineering Values on Nation Building
The author is not saying he himself in the
engineering practice but to solidify the intent, however, the Engineering
Consultancy lays with authority for the undertaking ahead with the
professionals, the skilled in the area of practices as Space Planning, Green
Building, Sustainable Design Management for Energy and Environment, Materials
Management, Value Engineering, and Design. The role of nation-building is well
defined, and it is now an accomplishing project of larger magnitudes spanning
all over the world. That includes -Townships, Corporate Buildings, Industrial
Complexes, Educational Institutions, Healthcare, Airports, Commercial
Complexes, Bridges, Dams and the Utility Services that provides for Water

Tanks, Street Lighting, Electrical Distribution Network, Chimneys, Cooling
Towers, District Cooling/Heating, and other engineering activities for the
nation-building.

modern world lies now with energy
conservation using technology and keeping sustainability in mind
is the primary goal of today’s competitive landscape. Energy conservation plays
an important since it has a significant role in reducing the effect on global
climate change. Replacement of non-renewable resources with renewable energy

The engineering value of proposition to
nation-building with Green
Building is an opportunity to manage the resources responsibly
throughout a structure's life cycle means while creating buildings that are
healthier for owners, occupants, and the natural environment. To the fact as compared
to the conventional designs traditionally, the green buildings afford with the
numerous benefits. That includes the operating cost savings, with the improved
of business productivity, with reduced risk and liability, enhanced the public
image, and the higher asset value all of which are readily attainable within
the current project budgets when an integrated approach to project management
is employed in the construction.
In building green may requires the
whole-building solutions to address the relationships between the structure and
with its surroundings environmentally, this is an approach that demands a
significant degree of collaboration among the design and construction
specialists.
Hence, in my engineering practice, the
Engineering Consultancy is vital to all the sectors which have been prioritized
in the government’s industrial strategy that builds the existing strengths in
the aerospace, pharmaceuticals, software and computing, automotive, renewable
energy and healthcare. The engineering consultancy for nation-building can
perform all the studies and investigations required for new builds, which aim
to ensure superior comfort and long-term service life as solutions and as part
of a lifecycle costing approach.
Nevertheless, the Engineering Consultancy
for Nation Building is a cause that is not solely for the
responsibility of the Government where we are living but also the
responsibility of individuals and the corporate citizens in the country.
Moreover, an individual has a great talent which is essential for great
innovation and a great business in nation-building. Although most of the
employers are struggling in meeting the demand for the engineers in general
which is mostly the senior staff but pursuing investment in high-skill
engineering is vital and indicating where most of the engineers’ skills are
highly valued in the country's economy. However, the presence of engineering
skills throughout the world or within the regions and high-quality engineering
research can have a very positive impact on regional development, which will
help to generate new economic activity and employment is vital for every
country.
Environmental Movement in the Construction
Industry
The good thing with the mother Earth’s environmental
movement is because of the wealth where we can extract and can
do what every nation want to accomplish their visions in serving the citizens
for every country because some part of the world has its oil and gas
explorations as their means of income and nation-building. However, in every
exploration they made, the environment suffers because of CO2 that
mainly contributes to global warming. But on the other side, the author was
influenced in the dramatic improvement of every region in the world whereas he
was involved primarily in the Engineering Consultancy relative with the design
innovation on the country’s building built environment on different scales,
which until now, the author is still part of the country’s development for his
family needs too.

As one of the examples of nation-building as
experiencing when the author came in 2004 in the Middle East region with the
Indian Engineers and among others from the rest of the world with purpose.
However, the Oil & Gas exploration as the primary source of income which is
already in operation and existence where the development of buildings and
infrastructure is the source of massive construction happening in all sectors
in the region. And where the author was involved in the design development and
innovation in progressing construction in the country like what Dr.
Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya did in India as compared most likely in the Doha West
Bay Area of various Engineering Consultancy in building the nation as shown in Figure
02.
Moreover, in return, the author may say that
the environmental movement of every nation is an advocate of every country's
leaders of their country’s futuristic development in nation-building with the
ecological possibilism implications through construction held. However, within
the environmental construction concerns on the other side, the pollution
arises, which became a big concern by all citizens in the country. Because of
the development and innovation, the whole world construction activities are one
of the most intensive industrial practices and businesses now in spite of whereas
this is the leading cause of infections from the excavations or digging grounds
everywhere in the regions. And this is the causes of the footprints of the
buildings, road construction development, and utilities trenching where all the
dust and sands are flying over the buildings constructions everywhere in the
world. The environmental
pollutions produced and created in the construction devastate
the human ecological movement where mixed composting emotions to individuals
especially the many construction workers employed. The cause of Air Pollution
has a negative impact on everyone on-site, hence, it may cause injuries and
total-sickness. Further, Environmental Engineering and Scientists are part of
the nation-building and responsible for securing a safe environment.
With all the construction happening around
the world, whereby producing 1-ton of cement manufactured and provided by the
manufacturer is roughly equivalent to a ton of carbon dioxide emissions. From
the burning of fossil fuels used those have been tagged by the US EPA
(Environmental Protection Agency) as one of the third largest sources
contributions of the greenhouse gas to the environment. As part of the construction
and for your information, another factor being used in the construction
environment is steel, and it is one of the major components in the construction
business which consumed as much as or roughly 8% to 10% energy used by the
manufacturers that contribute to greenhouse gas on Earth.
With the environmental movement, aside from
the oil and gas exploration that contributes to CO2 is the
constructions happening around the world have produces pollution and greenhouse
gas in the atmosphere, which is not sustaining a sustainable environment, but
for the country’s growth concerning economic values and nation-building
development.
In spite of creation and construction
development from around the world is one of the leader’s advocacy for the
country on what the people need as one of the environmental movements happening
around the world. However, with all the development in decades, it helps in the
first place for every people and to the environment which has served ways in
the implications of environmental movement within the globe. And with all the
country's accomplishments have changed the shape and structure due to
nation-building of the whole areas anywhere not only in the country whereas the
author is living, and those are the fantastic ever experienced as an expatriate

Environmental Advocacy in the Construction
Industry for Nation Building
With my study and exponential experiences in
the industry, the construction is one of the most intensive industrial practices
and businesses in the world, and that is true, and the author does have no
arguments in such a way that Construction within the community is a must for
country’s socio-cultural development, economic aspects, and market values
within the region.
For decades, like Building and
Construction Engineering experienced, we learned that within the
construction, using heavy equipment has been used, where more energy
encompasses to build buildings and infrastructure development each day compared
to the joint transportation in traditional norms. In the construction, of
course, cement is the standard and primary material being used in the erection
of building and infrastructure construction. However, the cement is made by
heating limestone to more than 2600 degrees Fahrenheit for this purpose.
Because the author concerned with the
sustainability, and as an environmental advocate whereas he can do it much
within the field and involved in the construction industry, and the good thing
is, the Green Building Council for nation-building in every region is
continuously developing and improving the ecologically responsive design
through a rating system that values the country’s economic wealth. The purpose is
to facilitate greener building, and measures how a structure excels above and
beyond the existing local environmental regulations and standards, which become
mandatory from around the world in their policy-making. The Sustainable Engineering Consultancy
framework considers with a 9-core
area for nation-building incorporating in the design that needs to be
measured as the fundamental criterion for greening the building certification
in today’s construction innovation with these criteria as such: 1) Energy Efficiency and Conservation, 2) Water Efficiency and Conservation, 3) Waste Management, 4) Use of Land and Ecology, 5) Environmental Management, 6) Green Materials, 7) Transportation, 8) Indoor Environment Quality, and 9) Emissions.
However, the payback needs to understand and
the importance of the benefits in applying the green building principles in the
present building projects towards nation-building around the world using the
Green Building Rating Systems application that will be held encompassing the
necessary incentives that may be applied for any green building projects.
Hence, the implementation of having
incentives, lower insurance premiums, and government initiatives in encouraging
in promoting the green building. And it is more likely is from the voluntary
sides compared to the LEED System, which is honestly, the only answers to the
ecological needs for our environment in nation-building in today’s generation,
and as an environmental advocate.

Conclusion
As a conclusion, Engineering Consultancy for
Nation Building and as an Environmental
Advocate, Green Building adoption in the construction industry
in today’s world is a good impression that every country has been doing its
best and initiatives in practicing a sustainable green building. The conceptual
vision is to reduce the building's carbon footprint that is commonly produced
by the existing conventional design as we can experience from there. However,
most importantly, the Green Building Council from every region around the world
is continuously developing and improving the green building policy. Through the
ecologically responsive design excellence rating system, where has to
facilitate greener building. Measuring how well the building excels above and
beyond the existing local environmental regulations and standards as well as
the incentives being generated with the green principles that might help
individuals, the institutions, the country and the whole world in sustaining a
sustainable environment in the construction industry (Figure 03).
From our beloved Dr. Mokshagundam
Visvesvaraya in the development in the construction industry and his wisdom
will be cemented in today’s generation because of his contributions and
positively with the green building concept features lies in his concept where
have been adopted and included in the building design. The conceptual analysis
and application of green building architecture is the main factor that needs
to be done in sustaining a sustainable environment for the country we live in.
Hence, as a practicing building and construction engineer, it is my advocate in
the implementation of a sustainable environment, however, a difficult task but
this is one of the challenging careers as experienced in the Engineering
Consultancy for Nation Building.
